Join Logan of Kinbote_ Security on Wednesday, October 7 at 1:00 PM at the Arts & Commerce Hub (331 Main St) for a practical, locally-grounded session on the cyber threats facing Tofino businesses right now. This is an honest look at the attacks hitting our community, explained in plain language, with real examples and actionable takeaways.
Scammers have a powerful new tool: artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, business email compromise remains one of the costliest threats to small and mid-sized businesses across BC, and most businesses don't know they've been compromised until the damage is done.
This session pulls back the curtain on how these attacks actually work. Logan will demystify AI-powered phishing and run a live voice-phishing demonstration, showing how convincing a faked call can be and how to detect and shut one down. He'll revisit the business email compromise demos from the spring session and take you through the most common scam methods he's seen over the past six months, with real examples.
