Free Introductory Workshop for Hospitality Businesses and Employees in Tofino
Did you know?
Tofino’s rate of sexual assault is three times higher than the average in neighbouring communities. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for awareness, action, and community programs.
Tourism Tofino, in partnership with West Coast Community Resources Society and the Tofino Chamber of Commerce, are offering a free workshop designed for local hospitality businesses and their teams.
Workshop Goals:
- Foster safer, more respectful workplaces.
- Equip all personnel with knowledge of local resources.
- Encourage proactive policy development.
- Definitions of consent and sexual violence.
- How to build a culture of consent in the workplace.
- Skills to:
- Prevent unwanted behaviour by setting boundaries.
- how to safely intervene if they are witness to unwanted behaviour
- Respond supportively to disclosures of sexual violence.
