About Us

Nestled in a secluded cove, Wahous Wilderness Lodge offers a retreat into British Columbia’s wild beauty. Towering forests, cascading waterfalls, and abundant marine life invite you to reconnect—with nature, culture, and yourself. Step off the grid and into a land rich with stories passed down for generations.

Quait Bay is part of the traditional homelands of the Ahousaht people, adjacent to Wa?uus (Cypre River), an ancient village that once housed hundreds of families. The name Wa?uus reflects this deep history, grounding Wahous Wilderness Lodge in a place of cultural and ancestral significance. Nearby, Chiitape (Catface Mountain) witnessed a pivotal moment when Hyupinulth, an ancestor of Tyee ?aw?ii? ?uk?ina, led warriors in a chant that sparked a thirteen-year war, shaping the future of the Ahousaht people.

Suspended at the edge of the continent, Wahous Wilderness Lodge is a place of peace, adventure, and deep connection. This floating retreat rests in harmony with its surroundings, offering a one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of Quait Bay. Here, the rhythm of nature sets the pace—where tranquil waters reflect towering old-growth forests, and the calls of eagles echo across the bay. Our lodge is sustainably powered, ensuring a minimal environmental footprint while honouring the traditions of stewardship that have protected this land for generations.

With welcoming hospitality, thrilling adventures, and unforgettable encounters with nature, Wahous Wilderness Lodge offers more than just a getaway—it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of wonder.
